Role: Software Quality Engineer
Location: Cape Town / Johannesburg (Hybrid / Onsite as required)
Engagement: Contract Minimum 6 months
Start: 1st June 2026
Role Summary
The Software Quality Engineer will drive quality assurance across multiple projects, lead QA initiatives, mentor engineers, and advance testing and automation strategies. The role partners closely with development, architecture, and business teams to ensure high-quality software delivery across the SDLC.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to and improve QA frameworks, standards, and practices.
- Ensure functional and non-functional testability of requirements.
- Monitor and improve quality delivery across teams.
- Mentor junior and intermediate engineers.
- Drive automation, performance, and security testing initiatives.
- Engage stakeholders throughout the SDLC.
- Support CI/CD pipelines and DevOps-aligned quality practices.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong backend and frontend testing experience.
- Proven test automation framework design and maintenance.
- API and system interface testing experience.
- Performance and security testing using tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, OWASP ZAP, and Burp Suite.
- CI/CD and DevOps experience (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, Docker, Kubernetes).
- Cloud exposure (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
