
1st Shift Machinist | Aved
Job Description
SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Director of Operation, the 1st Shift Machinist must be able to run a one-person machine shop. Will perform various Machine Shop duties in support of Battery Pack Components, Fixtures, Jigs, and other items as required. Ability to operate a CNC Trak DPM2 Machine with program Controller, Lathe, Drill Press, Ban Saw, Air/Hydraulic Press, Waterjet, Environmental Chamber, and other various equipment. This position is a key member of a Production/Engineering support Team.
Machinist’s main objective:
- Must be able to run a one-person machine shop to support Production/Engineering requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ability to operate/program a CNC Trak DPM2 Machine with program Controller.
- Ability to operate Lathe, Drill Press, Tap, Ban Saw, Air/Hydraulic Press.
- Good with hand tools to build Fixtures/Jigs & repair Maintenance items with hardware.
- Support production with various machined plastic/metal components.
- Support Engineering with prototypes.
- May require support of running Waterjet, Environmental Chamber, 3D Printers, and other equipment.
- Have good computers skills for various tasks.
- Support various Production items for Battery Packs, Electro-Mechanical Box, & Cable Assemblies.
- Must be able to Read/Write and clearly communicate in English.
- Must be able to create parts from understanding of 2D Drawings.
- Keep work area clean and organized.
- Ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) are followed.
- Overtime may be required from time to time.
- Support and implement process improvements as necessary.
- Maintaining Quality of product is top priority.
- Adhere to and maintain workmanship standards set forth by Aved.
- Daily communication with team focused on Daily/Weekly/Monthly goals.
- Maintain an understanding of all tasks and processes with safety as a priority.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
- Ability to work with Management, Production, Engineering, and Quality personnel.
QUALIFICATIONS & KEY COMPETENCIES:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience of running/setup/programing CNC machines in a machine shop.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Work with the highest standards of safety in mind.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Accountable, dependable and trustworthy.
- Able to perform work accurately and thoroughly and the ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task.
- Ability to utilize the available time to organize and complete work within given deadlines.
- Ability to complete assigned tasks and adhere to fluctuating timelines.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with other members of the team and with other leaders.
- Bending and Lifting up to 35 Lbs.
