Job Description
We are hiring a contract Harvest Winemaker in Kelowna. This role is responsible for assisting the winemakers with harvest, to ensure compliance to specifications given by the Winemakers, maximizing quality and efficiencies. The primary focus will be assisting with direction and management of all grape intakes during the 2026 harvest, and managing each batch through to the wine stage.
The teammate will be responsible for -
Harvest Grape Management and Winemaking
Issue work orders to cellar supervisors for all daily activities.
Inspection of fruit upon arrival, and receiving into WICO
Assist with pressing/crushing ticket generation for cellar crew
Assist with generating work tickets and juice/wine analysis as needed
Assist with daily harvest work orders and additions.
Tracking and tasting of all fermentations, additions and QC on the Analysis Sheet and ML sheet
Monitor fermentation temperatures and health
Assist with product quality and process optimization trials
Ensure all samples and requested analysis are presented to the quality control lab in a timely fashion.
Communicate with winemaking and cellar team on the status of the respective ferments, movements and cellar activities/processes.
React to daily analysis as per Good Manufacturing and Winemaking practices.
In conjunction with the corporate Winemaking team:
Actively participate in tastings of juices, ferments and finished wines
Actively work to expand on an award-winning program
Actively strive for quality improvements in winemaking
Ensure a safe and healthy work environment through the effective operation of the Occupational Health and Safety program and joint H&S committee.
Follow safe work procedures and practices and reports all unsafe working conditions/hazards to their reporting Manager and maintain and attitude that all incidents are preventable.

The skills, experience and knowledge the teammate will bring -
Minimum B.Sc. or related post-secondary diploma/degree
Three years’ experience in Winery Operations preferred
Experience in vineyard an asset
