Job Description
Position Summary
The Senior Supply Planner leads the end-to-end supply planning process, translating demand signals into highly complex production and distribution plans to ensure product availability while optimizing inventory, capacity utilization, and service levels. The role proactively identifies gaps and designs solutions to improve the supply chain, manages risks and constraints, and drives cross-functional alignment across Demand Planning, Manufacturing, Materials Planning, Procurement, Deployment, and Logistics to keep the supply network operating efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Supply Planning & Execution
Lead end-to-end short-, mid-, and long-term supply planning across the network, translating demand forecasts into executable supply plans that balance capacity, inventory targets, and constraints.
Own CFR and inventory health outcomes by proactively identifying risks and driving cross-functional actions with plants and network teams to sustain availability and mitigate waste.
Inventory Management
Optimize inventory levels across the network while maintaining service targets by monitoring key KPIs (Days of Inventory, slow/excess inventory, and obsolescence risk) and driving actions to prevent stockouts and excess inventory.
Develop long-range inventory strategies to maintain healthy inventory levels through peak demand periods and seasonal operating constraints by leveraging monthly production capacity and reviewing and aligning shift/crewing plans with manufacturing units.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Demand Planning to review forecast updates, understand demand variability, and assess supply implications.
Collaborate with MRP and Procurement to secure raw materials, monitor constraints, and mitigate supply risks.
Align with Manufacturing to translate demand into production plans that factor in capacity and scheduling constraints.
Coordinate with Deployment and Logistics to enable on-time distribution and balanced inventory placement across the network.
Risk Management & Problem Solving
Proactively identify supply risks, define mitigation plans, and drive cross-functional alignment to reduce service and inventory exposure.
Lead short-term recovery planning during supply disruptions, setting priorities, coordinating stakeholders, and restoring supply performance.
Own constraint management (capacity, materials, transportation) by anticipating bottlenecks, triggering trade-off decisions, and driving timely resolution.
Planning Governance & IBP
Lead supply inputs and scenario analysis for S&OE / IBP cycles, translating risks and constraints into clear trade-offs and recommendations.
Own the narrative and analysis for Supply Review and executive discussions, synthesizing insights and highlighting key decisions and impacts.
Govern planning parameters and master data quality by setting standards, auditing exceptions, and driving root-cause fixes to prevent recurring issues.
Continuous Improvement
Identify and prioritize opportunities to improve supply planning processes, tools, and KPIs, translating them into clear business cases and roadmaps.
Lead process improvement initiatives (Lean / Six Sigma / automation), driving cross-functional execution and measurable performance gains.
Champion data-driven decision making by setting KPI definitions, improving insights quality, and coaching the organization on how to use data in trade-off decisions.
