About Lihir
Our Lihir Operation, located on the beautiful island of Niolam, approximately 800km north of Papua New Guinea's capital, Port Moresby, is one of the world’s largest gold mines. Set within a geothermically active, extinct volcanic crater, Lihir operates an open-pit mine producing refractory ore, which undergoes pressure oxidation and conventional leaching to recover gold.

Your impact
Reporting to the Lead, Category Management, the Advisor, Expediting will support supply chain master data, contracts and catalogue activities across PNG operations to ensure accurate procurement, purchasing and inventory processes are maintained.
This role sits at the intersection of Contracts, Procurement, Cataloguing and Operations and acts as the critical link between multiple stakeholder groups. Supporting one of the more complex mining supply chains in the industry, you will play a key role in maintaining material master data, catalogue governance, purchasing information and contract records that support operational reliability across PNG operations.
The role offers exposure to a highly transactional and data-driven operational environment where stakeholder engagement, analytical capability and strong process discipline are critical to success.
As part of our team you will
- Maintain and update contract, catalogue and purchasing master data across PNG operations
- Manage and maintain AMPL records and vendor part number relationships
- Update purchase orders, delivery dates and pricing information to support procurement processes
- Support contract maintenance, catalogue governance and purchasing compliance activities
- Validate and audit material records to ensure data integrity and process compliance
- Analyse large datasets to identify errors, inconsistencies and continuous improvement opportunities
- Work closely with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve purchasing and master data issues
- Support purchasing process improvement initiatives across procurement, contracts and catalogue management activities
- Utilise SAP, Ariba, Excel and associated supply chain systems to support reporting, validation and data management activities
Prerequisites for your success in the role
- Experience in master data management, procurement support, contracts administration or supply chain coordination within mining, heavy industry, manufacturing or related environments
- Strong analytical capability with the ability to work confidently across large and complex datasets
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data cleansing and validation
- Experience using SAP, Ariba or similar procurement and supply chain systems
- Strong attention to detail and process discipline with the ability to maintain accuracy across high-volume transactional work
- Ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and maintain strong organisational standards
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including the confidence to navigate challenging conversations professionally
- Exposure to supply chain, inventory management, procurement or contract catalogue processes will be highly regarded
- Relevant qualifications in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business or a related discipline will be advantageous
Your work environment
This permanent full-time role will be offered on a flexible hybrid working arrangement and is ideally suited to candidates based in Brisbane. Occasional ad hoc travel to PNG operations may be required.
