Your role
Corrective Services NSW (CSNSW) delivers professional correctional services and programs to reduce reoffending and create safer communities. We house remand and sentenced inmates in correctional centres and supervise offenders serving orders in the community.
CSNSW provides reports and advice to courts and releasing/parole authorities and assesses offenders in the community and in custody for relevant interventions to reduce their risks of reoffending. CSNSW works in partnership with other government and non-government justice and human services agencies to support victims, facilitate restorative justice and promote reintegration.
The role provides administrative and support services to facilitate the efficient operation of the Corrections Corporate Support Unit including the CSNSW Inmate Location line.
What you’ll do
- Undertake, with minimal supervision, individually and as part of a team, a range of administrative and support services, including offender related data entry, records management and written correspondence, to support the effective operation of the unit
- Provide quality customer service as part of high-volume call centre and respond to written requests for information from internal and external CSNSW stakeholders such as members of the public, government and non- government organisations.
- Respond to enquiries, and escalate and redirect issues as required, to ensure the provision of accurate information
- Update and maintain records and databases, complying with administrative systems and processes, to ensure that all information is accurate, stored correctly, accessible and auditable.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and integrity over sensitive information.
- Delivering multiple administrative support activities and services in line with agreed standards, timeframes and milestones, given tight timeframes and the need to maintain accuracy and attention to detail
What we’re looking for
- Demonstrated experience in an administrative and/or support service role, ideally within a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated experience in and commitment to providing positive customer-focussed services
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel, with the ability to confidently manage high volumes of emails, documents and data with accuracy
- Strong verbal/written communication skills, including the ability to interact professionally with internal stakeholders and emotionally distressed members of the public
- Exceptional attention to detail, with experience in maintaining accuracy and quality when working under pressure and within tight timeframes
- High-level organisational skills and time management skills, including the ability to prioritise competing demands, manage frequent interruptions and meet deadlines
