Position: 2nd Shift Fleet Fueling Driver
Location: Syracuse, NY
Schedule: 2nd Shift
Compensation: $24.00-$32.00 based on experience, with additional $3.00 shift differential
- Operate fuel delivery trucks to transport and dispense fuel to fleet vehicles at various locations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, ensuring they are in safe operating condition.
- Accurately measure and record fuel levels before and after deliveries to maintain precise inventory records.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper handling of hazardous materials and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain communication with dispatchers and supervisors to ensure timely and efficient fuel delivery.
- Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with clients and addressing any questions or concerns.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on fuel trucks as needed, reporting any major issues to the maintenance team.
- Follow all federal, state, and local regulations regarding the transportation and dispensing of fuel.
- Ensure all delivery paperwork and logs are completed accurately and submitted promptly.
- Assist in the training of new drivers on proper fueling procedures and safety protocols.
- Stay updated on company policies, industry trends, and best practices in fuel delivery.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a fuel delivery driver or in a related field.
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with HAZMAT and Tanker endorsements.
- Current Medical Certification required
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safety protocols related to fuel transportation.
- Proven track record of adhering to safety standards and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to operate fuel delivery trucks and associated equipment proficiently.
- Ability to maintain basic logs and records.
- Ability to plan delivery routes
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively and meet delivery schedules.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials as needed.
- Prolonged periods sitting in a trailer cab for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals/fuels or fumes.
- Occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
