Job Description Summary

Elementis has identified growth in new markets as a core strategic priority, building on the full potential of its unique hectorite asset and the deep capabilities of the company in rheology, formulation and application expertise.
This position aims to provide essential application testing & product development support for Elementis to explore opportunities in the new market of Plastics. The primary responsibility of this position is to validate feasibility of Elementis' technologies and products in the cable and plastics application in the laboratory, as well as to evaluate the performance of Elementis products in real customer systems. After the successful incubation of this new market development and its transfer to commercial team, the position should continue to support the business growth by offering various technical service activities to customers and supporting R&D team in products maintenance, upgrade and new products development. The position is located in Technical Center of Shanghai, and will also serve as a key resource, sharing expertise to other regions to drive this new market development and business growth globally.

Job Description

• You will be independently performing testing and evaluation of Elementis materials in cable and plastics applications.
• You should design, develop and modify the testing process, formulations and methods.
• You will visit partners and potential customers to understand testing equipment, process, formulations and methods from them.
• You will be working closely with New Market Development managers to realize the transfer of Elementis technology from lab to real business opportunity.
• You will be responsible for building up and operating the Fire Retardant lab.
• You will be developing all technical tools to support Plastics market development including generating technical data, presentation, video, demo materials, training materials, etc.
• You will be responsible for coaching and guiding other Elementis team across the world for technical expertise in cable and plastics segment.
• You will be responsible for the safe operation of the Fire Retardant lab, equipment maintenance and chemical management.
