Job Description Summary
The business is seeking an experienced US Tax Manager who will be responsible for managing all aspects of corporate tax compliance, reporting, and advisory support for the Group’s US operations. This role sits within the global tax function and will work closely with the Group Head of Tax to ensure that the Group meets its US federal and state tax obligations while supporting accurate IFRS tax reporting. The position requires strong technical expertise, hands-on preparation skills and the ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders and external advisors.Job Description
- Prepare the Group’s US federal and state corporate income tax returns, including all supporting schedules and disclosures.
- Manage the IC-DISC calculations and tax return process in collaboration with external advisors.
- Monitor US legislative and regulatory changes and communicate any impacts to the wider tax team and senior leadership.
- Prepare US tax accounting calculations for half year and year end reporting under IFRS, including current and deferred tax positions.
- Support the Group tax team in preparing consolidated tax disclosures for external reporting.
- Ensure tax balances are reconciled, documented, and compliant with internal controls and audit requirements.
- Manage the US transfer pricing process, including preparation of annual files, intercompany true ups, and local documentation requirements.
- Work closely with external advisors to ensure compliance with US transfer pricing regulations and alignment with the Group’s global transfer pricing policies.
- Act as the primary point of contact for US tax queries from the business, providing clear, practical guidance.
- Support tax planning initiatives, restructuring projects and cross border transactions as needed.
- Lead and manage IRS and state tax audits, including responding to information requests, preparing supporting documentation and coordinating with external advisors.
- Maintain strong relationships with tax authorities and external advisors while protecting the Group’s tax positions.
Additional Job Description
- Professional qualification such as CPA, or equivalent US tax credentials.
- Significant experience in US corporate tax compliance and reporting, ideally within a multinational environment or Big 4 firm.
- Strong knowledge of US federal and state tax rules, transfer pricing, and tax accounting principles.
- Experience preparing tax calculations under IFRS (or willingness to develop this skill).
- Proven ability to manage external advisors and collaborate across finance and business teams.
- Hands on, detail oriented, and comfortable owning end to end processes; able to balance technical rigour with commercial pragmatism.
- Confident working independently while contributing to a global team; proactive, adaptable, and comfortable dealing with changing priorities.
