REGISTERED NURSE- PACU PER-DIEM (24387)

The Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse independently provides surgical patient care by assessing, planning & implementing nursing care preoperatively, intraoperatively and postoperatively as patients recover from anesthesia, including general, regional, & local. PACU nurses effectively interact with patients & significant others and conduct pre- and post-operative education. In addition, nurses at this level will provide leadership & act as a clinical resource for all ancillary personnel. PACU nurses work collaboratively with other professional disciplines including surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and other O.R. nurses. This nurse is under the general supervision of the Director of Nursing for Acute Care Services.
