Brewer Science, Inc. is a major innovator of high-technology solutions for the semiconductor / microelectronics markets. We are currently seeking a purpose-driven candidate with an ownership mentality to fill an open position as a Director, Data Science. This position will be located remotely.
Summary:
The Director, Data Science is responsible for defining and executing enterprise-wide strategies that leverage advanced analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning (ML) to drive business value. This position leads the development, deployment, and scaling of sophisticated ML models and data-driven solutions that enhance operations, product quality, and innovation. It partners closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to align data science initiatives with strategic objectives while strengthening data infrastructure, governance, and accessibility. Additionally, it ensures that data science practices meet the highest standards of security, compliance, and industry leadership while advancing the organization’s long-term AI/ML capabilities.

This position leads the development, deployment, and scaling of sophisticated ML models and data-driven solutions that enhance operations, product quality, and innovation. It partners closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to align data science initiatives with strategic objectives while strengthening data infrastructure, governance, and accessibility. Additionally, it ensures that data science practices meet the highest standards of security, compliance, and industry leadership while advancing the organization’s long-term AI/ML capabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team in the development and execution of complex, organization-wide data science strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Design and implement sophisticated machine learning algorithms and advanced statistical models to solve high-priority manufacturing, supply chain, and/or R&D challenges.
- Build, scale, and continuously enhance AI/ML capabilities across the organization, including model development, deployment, and lifecycle management.
- Collaborate with business leaders to define data science priorities and align analytics efforts with company strategy.
- Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring solutions meet operational and strategic needs.
- Guide the development of new analytical tools, platforms, and frameworks to support scalable AI/ML adoption.
- Lead efforts to improve data infrastructure, accessibility, and data quality across enterprise systems.
- Ensure successful deployment, monitoring, and scaling of machine learning models.
- Develop and communicate data-driven recommendations to senior leadership.
- Mentor and coach data science teams, fostering both technical excellence and professional growth.
- Promote best practices in AI/ML, data engineering, and analytics across the organization.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy, security, and regulatory requirements.
- Foster innovation by evaluating and applying emerging AI/ML techniques relevant to the organization.
- Represent the company externally in industry forums, conferences, and collaborations.
- Publish and promote thought leadership on emerging data science and AI/ML trends.
Education & Credentials:
- Bachelor’s degree in data science, computer science, statistics, or related field and
- 10+ years of progressive experience, with 6+ years progressive leadership experience or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Master’s degree or doctorate is preferred.

Compensation
Base pay for this role is between $115,000 and $138,000 annually. Base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location.
