About the Job
We are currently seeking a mid-to senior-level scientist or engineer for our Investigation and Remediation business area. The position will support multiple clients and projects, with the common theme of characterizing complex contaminated sites. The day-to-day work will vary and may involve data analysis, historical document review and synthesis, client presentations, developing scopes and budgets, field work, and writing. Most assignments will require teamwork, though a few will be entirely your responsibility.
This position may offer in-office, remote, or hybrid opportunities based on the candidate’s location and the needs of the organization.
Responsibilities
As a Geochemist, your job functions will include, but not be limited to:
- Evaluating and synthesizing environmental data from multiple media to develop site conceptual models
- Performing fate and transport and/or geochemical evaluations, potentially including modeling
- Supporting litigation projects, potentially including allocation, forensics, PFAs, or emerging contaminants
- Conducting project and task management
- Communicating technical information to varied audiences (e.g., clients, staff, regulators, and stakeholders)
- Writing technical reports
Qualifications
Candidates should hold an advanced degree in geochemistry, geology, hydrogeology, environmental or civil engineering, or similar field.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 5-15 years of professional experience
- Strong quantitative and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in geochemical evaluations
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- A desire to grow both intellectually and professionally
- Possess strong organizational abilities
- Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers
Compensation is commensurate with experience and internal equity, within the listed range. An employee’s total compensation package includes annual salary; company-subsidized (employee and family) medical, dental, and vision insurance; 401(k) participation with a company match of 1% to 4% of annual compensation; company-paid life and short- and long-term disability insurance; paid sick leave (10 days); paid vacation (15 days); paid holidays (9 days) per year, and the potential for an annual discretionary bonus based on company performance. Paid time off will be prorated to reflect part-time scheduled hours, if applicable.
