Your tasks
A wide range of tasks
- Market risk management with a focus on power and gas sales activities (B2B and B2C).
- Valuation of gas and power customer consumption behaviour, especially temperature-driven customers, and corresponding hedging products.
- Review of price and temperature forward curves, and forecasting methodologies.
- Review of pricing strategies, and risk premium calculation.
- Analysis of economic effects, especially for process gas customers (B2B).
- Sign-off of position and PnL overviews and reports.
- Review of hedging strategies (including backtesting).
- Independent analysis and stress cases for market, liquidity and credit risks.
- Communication of portfolio risk to the portfolio manager, management and risk committees.
- Oversight of the definition and monitoring of limits and risk policies.
- Validation of market price and volatility valuation.
Your profile
Convincing profile
- Possession of a university degree in mathematics, physics, economics or a comparable quantitative discipline.
- Experienced in market risk management and familiar with the principles of credit risk management (especially counterparty risk) and liquidity risk management.
- Experienced in handling the complexity of sales processes in the energy market and the corresponding grid operator processes
- At least five professional experiences in the area of market, credit and liquidity risk are required.
- Good communication skills with different stakeholders and at different levels.
- The role is based in Karlsruhe, with the possibility of remote working.
- Fluency in English and German
About the department
EnBW's Trading business unit is EnBW's central market access point to the energy markets. We are active in key European markets and on international energy exchanges. Our Trading unit is responsible for the optimal management of EnBW's portfolio, is active in the trading of renewable energies and thus supports the Energiewende. We are also involved in future topics such as hydrogen or smart & digital in trading, as well as in new supply contracts and the management of renewable energies. EnBW's Business Unit Trading operates with an international team with employees from more than 30 nations, represented at 4 European locations: Germany, England, Norway and Switzerland.
