JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for field execution and entry level aspects of project management related to Due Diligence Services. Examples include Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA), Environmental Desktop Reviews / Records Search with Risk Assessment (RSRA), Project File Reviews, Due Diligence Peer Reviews, and Phase II Subsurface Investigations. Additionally, this position will learn and perform business development activities. This will include various functions to identify prospects and develop customer and brand awareness. Develop qualified leads and opportunities within the Michigan market to develop relationships and secure new business. Primary focus on new and previous clients, trade group networking (meeting leads in a social or seminar setting), lead generating, and documentation of business development and marketing efforts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Generate proposals, budgets, staffing (subcontractors), and scopes of work for environmental due diligence assessments under senior-level oversight
- Train field and staff personnel in tasks associated with project’s scope of work
- Supervise technical, field, and administrative support staff to achieve established objectives and deadlines
- Coordinate, schedule, and perform site inspections for environmental due diligence assessments
- Work with report writers to download site inspection information and photographs, and complete applicable sections of environmental due diligence reports
- Prepare and review written reports prior to Senior Level / EP review
- Understand and become proficient in presenting company capabilities within designated geography
- Participate in tradeshows, trade groups, and client presentations
- Conduct initial and follow-up meetings of warm leads developed or provided
- Prepare completed project descriptions and update August Mack resume
- Maintain client relations and project updates throughout lifecycle of project
- Maintain a personal client base and manage clients
- Identify work opportunities with existing and potential clients to increase network
- Work alongside Marketing and Sales to secure client base and project opportunities
- Meet annual financial goal, complete projects under budget, and oversee and direct administration of the projects
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education: B.S. in environmental science, geology, engineering, or related field
Experience: 2+ years of project experience in environmental consulting, business development, health and safety, and knowledge of state regulations is a plus; meet or working towards qualifications of an Environmental professional as defined in 40 CFR 312.10(b)
Skills: Strong computer and verbal/written communication skills
Additional Requirements: Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) Standard – ASTM E1527 and Phase II Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) Standard – ASTM E1903
- Understand geologic setting and contaminant transport
- Identify recognized environmental conditions at various sites

JOB CONTEXT

30% Office, 70% Travel and client visits (in-state and neighboring-state)
This classification requires travel to various client locations. Travel typically involves day trips within the state or neighboring states, resulting in longer workdays; and may include extended and/or further travel, resulting in multiple days and overnights. Long distance drives and air travel may be required. Shift work and holiday work may be required on an as-needed and sometimes ongoing basis.
