As Corporate Counsel, Regulatory Affairs, you will provide legal counsel and strategic guidance on product-related regulatory matters affecting the business. You will engage in regulatory advocacy, state and federal rulemaking, and defense of agency investigations and penalty matters while partnering closely with engineering, product management, operations, and other cross-functional stakeholders to advocate for commercially practical positions on emerging regulatory developments, support implementation of new and existing requirements, and engage with stakeholders across the business and the industry to resolve business challenges. This role combines legal judgment, regulatory subject matter knowledge, and external engagement to support business strategy in areas including energy efficiency, refrigerants, chemicals, packaging/EPR, right to repair, and related policy matters.Position

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as legal counsel on regulatory and public policy matters affecting products, business operations, and strategic initiatives.
- Lead legal support for regulatory rulemaking, advocacy strategy, and submissions to federal, state, and other governmental agencies.
- Draft, review, and help shape agency comments, position statements, and other regulatory advocacy materials in partnership with internal stakeholders and external industry groups.
- Represent the company in interactions with regulators, trade associations, and standards organizations, as appropriate.
- Advise business partners on legal and regulatory developments in areas such as energy efficiency, refrigerants, chemicals, packaging and EPR, right to repair, and sustainability-related requirements.
- Partner with engineering, product management, compliance, and other functions to assess regulatory risk, interpret new requirements, and support business decision-making.
- Monitor and analyze proposed and enacted laws, regulations, codes, and standards to identify legal risks, business impacts, and strategic opportunities.
- Provide practical, risk-balanced legal guidance that aligns regulatory strategy with business objectives.
What You'll Bring to Our Team
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active bar membership in good standing in any U.S. jurisdiction.
- 7+ years of relevant legal and/or regulatory experience in a law firm, corporate legal department, government, or similarly complex environment.
- Significant experience analyzing, interpreting, and advising on regulatory, legislative, or administrative law matters.
- Experience supporting regulatory advocacy, including rulemaking comments, agency submissions, or similar external-facing work.
- Strong legal drafting, issue-spotting, and risk assessment skills.
- Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and translate complex legal/regulatory issues into clear business guidance.
- Ability to manage multiple high priority matters independently with sound judgment and strong attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in consumer products, manufacturing, energy, environmental, or other highly regulated industries.
- Experience with agencies, trade associations, or standards bodies relevant to product regulation.
- Familiarity with energy efficiency, refrigerants, chemicals regulation, packaging/EPR, right to repair, and sustainability-related regulatory frameworks.
- Experience with codes and standards development processes.
- In-house legal experience advising business and technical stakeholders.
