The Associate Industrial Designer will conceptualize and develop new home appliance products. These will be executed in a fashion consistent with established visual brand language guidelines. The products possess a higher than-average degree of complexity with successful design solutions incorporating the appropriate blend of form, aesthetics, and physical and psychological interfaces

How You'll Create Possibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design engaging products that delight the end-user.

  • Synthesize research, aesthetic trends and production processes to generate new concepts that possess the visual brand character and user experience of our products.

  • Create and develop products that work great in the home and are appealing both on the sales floor and in the home.

  • Lead day-to-day industrial design actions with product development teams.

  • Drive innovative product enhancements that simplify manufacturing complexity.

  • Identify/plan resource needs for future projects within platform.

  • Support internal/external design resources to manage projects.

  • Support collaborative projects with universities.

What You'll Bring to Our Team

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design from an accredited college/university

  • Minimum 1 year professional design experience in consumer products working with multidisciplinary teams

  • Proficient in 3D/modeling packages (Solidworks, ProE, Rhino, Alias) and 2D/rendering packages (Illustrator/Photoshop, KeyShot)

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate ideas using verbal, written and visualization tools to present complex ideas in an easily understandable way

  • Experienced and proficient in 3D prototyping and visualization, i.e., foam core, 3d printing, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Industrial Design from an accredited college/university

  • Consumer electronics experience a plus

  • Appropriate professional certifications desired

  • Actively involved with professional organizations
