Job Description
Title: Interplant Truck Driver
Reports To: Distribution Supervisor Team
Primary Purpose: To spot and move trailers between Hoopeston Teasdale buildings, and transport materials and components safely and efficiently between the company buildings. Assists with forklift needs at the distribution building.
Requirements: Must be CDL classified. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Tasks:
Backing the trailer spotter onto trailers, and positioning trailers to the docks and lot. Use proper safety equipment to secure trailers into the docks and lot. Loading recycling trailer and taking recycling trailer to other company buildings to have it loaded with recycling products. Unloading Empty Pallet trailers. Maintaining and storing Empty Pallets inside facility according to procedure. Reporting weekly Empty Pallet counts to Supervisor. Pulling, separating and staging dump and destroy product, and dumping product into dump trailers when scheduled. Assist with loading and unloading trailers as needed. Assist with other forklift duties on the labeling floor as needed. Taking spotter to fuel station as needed to fill up. Moving trailer to and from other company docks in the greater Hoopeston area as required. Any other tasks assigned by the supervisors.
Good Manufacturing/Housekeeping practices:
Keeping docks and lot clear of trash and debris. Inspect spotter truck and trailers for leaks and pests. Storing pallets, dump and destroy product and recycling materials in their designated areas. Wear required safety PPE and follow personal hygiene and all other company policies.
Communication with Other Employees:
Traffic control coordinators – inform them when trailers are being placed and removed from the docks. Maintenance – reporting any issues with spotter truck, docks, forklifts and other equipment.
