Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct Personalized Campus Tours
    • Lead personalized tours for prospective students, highlighting key campus features and amenities.
    • Customize tours based on the interests and preferences of the visiting students and families.
  • Answer Questions
    • Address questions and concerns from tour participants, offering valuable insights and advice
    • Stay updated on campus developments, events, and changes to provide current and relevant information
  • Assist with outreach and mailing projects
  • Assist with other tasks as needed by the Admissions Office.

     

Experience and Qualifications

  • Gator (Tour) Guides will work 2 hours per business week in the Office of Admissions, giving tours, conducting outreach, and other general office duties. 

 

Required Knowledge

  • Knowledgeable about campus facilities, academic programs, and student life
  • Passionate about their college experience and eager to share it with others

 

 Required Skills and Abilities

 A qualified applicant is a current student (sophomore to senior) at Allegheny College who:

  • Is detail-oriented
  • Has strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Is comfortable speaking in front of groups and answering questions on the spot
  • Is reliable, punctual, and able to commit to a flexible part-time schedule
  • Communicates respectfully and professionally with all members of the Admissions Staff, Student Worker Staff, Operations Staff, and guests of the College.
  • Maintains Professionalism
    • Represent Allegheny College with professionalism, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
    • Adhere to a predetermined schedule and communicate effectively with the Student Worker Coordinator/Admissions Team.

 

Compensation

Expected starting salary: $14.00/hr
