Job Description
Head Golf Coach - Women’s and Men’s
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrating excellent teaching and coaching competencies with regard to:(a) sport skill instruction (b) motivation (c) tactical strategies (d) physical training and fitness
- Exhibiting the highest professional standards and ethical behaviour with regard to adherence to NCAA, Conference, College, and Department of Athletics rules, policies and expectations including commitment to lifelong learning, sportsmanship on and off the field of play, positive leadership and the desire and ability to act as a positive role model and representative of the College at all times
- Create team results that compete and finish in the top half of the PAC regular season on a consistent basis. Design and execute a competitive schedule (including practice planning) that maximizes individual and collective student-athlete development and performance; prioritizing conference play within an academically rigorous educational experience
- Successful recruitment, matriculation, retention and graduation of student-athletes capable of attaining the baccalaureate degree in sufficient quantity to maintain a team roster appropriate for competitive success.
- Manage a cost-effective and administratively efficient sport program working at or within operational budget on an annual basis.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with program alumni and friends.
- Provide student-athletes with opportunities that allow for social, emotional, and academic development, in addition to athletic success through close interpersonal guidance, mentoring and counselling.
Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
- 1-3 years experience required, 4-7 years experience preferred.
Required Knowledge
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- The ability to teach through use of images and emerging technologies.
- Passion and ability for personal growth and learning.
- Travel is required and includes extended periods on the road. Evening, holiday and weekend hours along with flexible work scheduling are required.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office/Google Suite products (Excel, Google Sheets, Word, Powerpoint, etc) required
- Knowledge of Front Rush Recruiting Software
Required Skills and Abilities
- Lifting, carrying, loading sport specific equipment
- Set up and tear down of sports contest support equipment
- Some care and maintenance of sport specific or general athletic facilities
Compensation
Expected starting salary: $50,000
