Athletic Trainer I
Job Description
Towson Sports Medicine is seeking a dedicated and skilled Athletic Trainer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive athletic training services to support the health, safety, and performance of club and rec sports athletes in the collegiate setting in the greater Baltimore area. This role involves injury prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation, as well as educating athletes and coaching staff on best practices for physical fitness and injury management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and assess athletic injuries and conditions to determine appropriate treatment plans.
- Develop and implement injury prevention programs tailored to individual athletes and teams.
- Provide immediate care and rehabilitation for sports-related injuries.
- Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of treatments, progress, and outcomes.
- Educate athletes, coaches, and staff on injury prevention, nutrition, and conditioning techniques.
- Monitor athletes’ progress and adjust rehabilitation programs as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and health regulations and protocols.

- Skilled in conducting thorough assessments and evaluations of athletic injuries
- Knowledgeable in designing and implementing rehabilitation programs
- Ability to provide immediate care and treatment for acute injuries
- Familiarity with therapeutic modalities and equipment
- Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with athletes, coaches, and medical professionals
- Ability to maintain accurate and detailed medical records
- Capable of educating athletes on injury prevention and health maintenance
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Certification by the Board of Certification (BOC) for Athletic Trainers.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and sports medicine.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- CPR and First Aid certification required.
