Job Description/Preferred Qualifications
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the design and development of semiconductor capital equipment. The role includes ownership of new product development as well as sustaining and improving existing systems.
Electrical Design & Development
- Define electrical architecture and requirements for KLA FaST tools and related subsystems.
- Design and develop electrical and metrology subsystems including mixed‑signal PCBs, system interconnects, AC and DC power systems, power budgets, electro‑optical components, electro‑mechanical control systems, and engineering test equipment.
- Drive schematic and electrical system design in close cooperation with Electrical, Mechanical, and Mechatronics engineering teams.
System Troubleshooting & Escalation Support
- Analyze, diagnose, and resolve complex electrical and system‑level issues throughout the product lifecycle.
- Lead root‑cause investigations and define corrective actions for high‑impact technical issues.
- Serve as an escalation point, working directly with cross‑functional teams to restore tool performance, reliability, and schedule.
Manufacturing & Field Support
- Support engineering builds, factory bring‑up, system integration, and qualification activities.
- Provide technical support for electrical issues identified during manufacturing, validation, or customer operation.
- Partner with Manufacturing, Field Service, and Sustaining Engineering to deliver reliable, production‑ready electrical solutions.
Documentation & Design Reviews
- Develop and maintain technical documentation covering system and subsystem operation, interfaces, calibration approaches, test methods, and error budgets.
- Prepare and present design reviews across all stages of subsystem development.
Cross Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with Mechanical, Mechatronics, Software, Systems, and Program Management teams to achieve system‑level objectives.
- Provide electrical engineering input to technical decisions and design tradeoffs.
- Take ownership of projects or defined technical scopes and communicate progress and results to stakeholders.
Travel & Global Support
- Provide onsite technical support during critical development, integration, or escalation phases as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- BSc or MSc in Electrical / Electronics Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience.
- Strong hands‑on experience in electrical design and system integration.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex systems in a cross‑functional environment.
- FPGA firmware experience is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
