Senior Client Service Officer (Specialist)

 

• Location: Newcastle, with a talent pool established for future opportunities across Newcastle, Central Coast, Tweed and Lismore 

• Employment: Temporary – up to 6 months 

• Grade: Clerk Grade 5/6  $99,398 to $110,271 + superannuation and leave loading

 

 

Your role 

 

This is a great opportunity to step into a specialist role supporting some of the most vulnerable and complex clients within Housing Services. You will work closely with clients, Client Service Officers (CSOs), and key stakeholders to provide tailored support, coaching, and casework assistance.

 

This role offers the chance to build your expertise in complex case management while contributing to improved outcomes for clients and strengthening capability across CSO teams.

 

What you’ll do 

 

As part of the Housing Services team, you will provide specialist support to clients with high and complex needs, working one-on-one to navigate housing and support services.

You will partner closely with CSOs, providing coaching, guidance, and on-the-job support to build capability and confidence in managing complex cases.

 

You will work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment focused on achieving positive outcomes for clients, while engaging with internal teams and external service providers to coordinate effective support.

 

What we’re looking for 

 

  • Experience working with vulnerable or high-complex clients, including supporting case work coordination, with an ability to respond to challenging situations with professionalism and empathy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships, influence outcomes, and work effectively with clients, staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach or support others, ideally in a client service environment, including providing guidance on complex cases and service delivery approaches.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accurate records and delivering outcomes for clients.
  • Current NSW driver’s licence.
