The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
 

Position Summary

We are seeking a registered nurse to serve as part-time Student Research Workers at the School of Nursing. The nurse will work on a study that is pilot testing a 12-week nurse-led intervention to reduce heart disease risk among sexual minority (e.g., lesbian, gay, bisexual, queer) adults.

Evening hours may be required.

Ideal candidates will have previous experience in delivering health education and comfort in working with diverse communities


Responsibilities

  • Conduct all research activities following study protocols and other appropriate institutional regulations, procedures, and policies, including procedures to safeguard the confidentiality of study participants;
  • Assist in the completion of in-person participant visits;
  • Administer study questionnaires;
  • Provide support for virtual and in-person intervention sessions;
  • Provide weekly participant and recruitment updates;
  • Assist with database design, security, data storage, and management
  • Assist with progress reports, data entry, and IRB protocol modifications/submissions;
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires an entry-level degree in Nursing
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Familiarity with electronic data capture systems
  • Organized and able to multitask in a diverse research environment
  • Flexibility in workload and work hours to meet deadlines and recruitment goals
  • Capable of working effectively in research groups

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Nursing with experienced in psychiatric nursing and/or primary care
  • Experience in research or health education
  • Experience conducting research involving minoritized populations.
