What You'll Do
Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine and emergency maintenance on machinery, equipment, and facility systems to ensure optimal production efficiency and safety.
Shift Schedule: 7:00AM-3:30PM Technical Job
Perform preventative maintenance on CNC machine tools, spinning lathes, ovens, overhead cranes and various manufacturing equipment
Apply in-depth knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, lubrication and electricity
Understand how to fabricate machine parts and welds as needed to repair or upgrade machine tools, equipment or facility
Troubleshoot and repair machinery includes tear down and replacement of defective parts, reassembly and readjustments
Assist outside contractors on overhaul and repair to machine tools, facility improvements and other projects
Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatic tools, hydraulics, and production machines
Read and follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications to troubleshoot malfunctions
Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments
Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments
Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges
Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques while monitoring compliance
Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verify receipt
Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results
Provide mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests
Utilize, track, and update Maintenance Ticketing software
Travel between facilities and part suppliers may be required, in which case mileage reimbursement is provided
Accurately execute PCS (Process Control Sheets) and provide feedback when revisions are needed
Assist Engineering with the implementation, creation, and maintenance of PCS
Document actions by completing production and quality logs as needed
Accomplish organization goals by actively exploring opportunities to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost. (SQDC)
Train others by openly sharing information, knowledge, and expertise with the team
Complete job assignments as directed by Manufacturing Manager
Attend meetings, trainings, and participate in audits as directed
Safety
Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
Comply with all company rules including company safety policy and all federal, state, local, and other safety regulations and practices
Use personal protective equipment and devices provided for machinery, equipment, tools and processes, when defined in PCS, Company Safety Policy, Job Safety Analysis or Management direction
Report all unsafe conditions, accidents and injuries immediately to management
Housekeeping
Actively participate in 6S and lean activities as outlined by the Company
Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following Company instructions
Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs
Store and maintain tools, equipment and gauges as defined by company standards
Keep work area clean and organized to company standards/expectations
Daily cleaning and sweeping of work area, tools and equipment
Empty trash and waste as needed
Personal items removed from workstations
What You'll Do
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Minimum 5 years proven experience as a manufacturing Maintenance Technician
Proficient understanding & interpretation of wiring diagrams, schematics, flow diagrams, etc.
Forklift experience is preferred
Reliable transportation
Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Ability to effectively manage time, multi-task, and pay close attention to details
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Capable of following directions
Take responsibility for achieving production efficiency, quality of product and reports discrepant material immediately
Demonstrate customer focus by seeking out, understanding, and responding to the needs of both internal and external customers
Maintain a positive attitude and communicate openly and honestly with others
Solve problems proactively and contributes to continuously improving the process/product
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods
Comfortable working in environments with noise, heat, or dust
Regularly required to move, sit, and bend for various hours throughout the day
