Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

We believe in the power of unique perspectives and want all voices in our organisation to be heard, respected and valued. A supportive workplace is one where employees feel they can be themselves and operate to their full potential. We are committed to removing barriers for everyone, with a focus on addressing those faced by underrepresented groups.

The Role

FT Studio is an in-house creative team that produces partner content for the FT. It creates editorially driven and visually impactful client-branded content, from animations to immersive and interactive digital experiences, mini-documentaries, podcasts and journalistic content. Maintaining the FT tone of voice, FT Studio’s content sits naturally within the newspaper’s editorial environment.

The Assistant Producer supports the delivery of branded content campaigns across FT Studio, while beginning to take ownership of smaller, single-format deliverables. Working closely with Producers and wider creative, editorial, video, design and development teams, you will help ensure projects are well organised, delivered on schedule and completed to FT standards.

This is a hands-on production role combining coordination, administrative support and exposure to the creative process across editorial, video, digital and interactive formats. It offers a strong development pathway for someone looking to build towards independent production ownership in a fast-moving, commercially creative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of smaller, single-format deliverables, such as social assets, simple video edits or cutdowns, individual editorial pieces and basic multimedia components.
  • Ensure assigned deliverables are completed on time, on brief and to the required quality standards.
  • Mitigate risks, delays or issues appropriately, helping the team to identify and resolve problems early.
  • Coordinate with internal teams including design, video, editorial and development.
  • Work effectively with Producers, content makers and creative colleagues to ensure work follows the agreed brief.
  • Support communication with freelancers, suppliers and production partners.
  • Maintain clear, timely and professional communication with clients throughout delivery.
  • Maintain production trackers, schedules, documentation and project records.
  • Support digital publishing workflows, including uploading content to a CMS and YouTube.
  • Support budget administration and cost tracking for assigned work.
  • Assist with production logistics, including travel, bookings, file management and general production coordination.
  • Follow FT Studio production systems and workflows consistently.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Experience working in a busy production environment, ideally across video, digital, editorial or branded content production.
  • Experience supporting or leading projects involving multiple collaborators.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and handle competing work requests.
  • Clear and professional communication skills, with confidence working across teams, clients and suppliers.
  • A collaborative, team-oriented approach, including experience working with colleagues in different locations or time zones.
  • A proactive and enthusiastic approach, with a willingness to learn and take ownership of tasks.
  • Client-focused approach and an understanding of the importance of delivering high-quality work to brief.
  • Ability to identify issues, suggest solutions and advance appropriately.
  • Resilience, adaptability and flexibility in a fast-moving, changing environment.
  • Knowledge of, experience in or genuine interest in content production for business, financial and decision-maker audiences.

Desirable

  • Experience with digital publishing workflows, CMS platforms or YouTube uploads.
  • Experience supporting budget tracking, supplier coordination or production logistics.
  • Exposure to social, video, editorial, multimedia or interactive content production.
  • Interest in branded content and how FT Studio combines client objectives with FT-quality storytelling.
