Job Description
Banquet Bartender
Overview:
This team member will ensure that all beverage service for functions in the banquet department of the hotel is served on time and that all of Omni's professional standards are upheld.
Responsibilities:
Efficiently and properly perform all service standards.
Have excellent working knowledge of liquors, beers and wines
Must be familiar with and adhere to all liquor liability laws.
Monitor the intake of alcohol of guests, prohibiting sale of alcohol to those who are intoxicated
Check identification of guests ensuring alcohol is being served only to those patrons of legal drinking age
Communicate with guests and respond to feedback in a positive manner, resolving any service issues
Attend to all needs of the guests during functions and function related duties.
Efficiently and properly perform predefined drink service guidelines and responsible for beverage familiarization.
Responsible for setting up and breaking down bar and service area.
Requisition and restock bar with all essential products and equipment
Implements beverage service.
Maintain an awareness of liquor costs and minimizing waste
Must be familiar with all revenue-related procedures.
Must serve all guests in consistent manner.
Maintain an awareness of all functions, events and meetings taking place at any given time.
Report to the Banquet Manager any need for housekeeping and/or repairs of and banquet space and equipment.
Must follow all details as described on Banquet Event Orders (BEO’s).
Must attend all designated pre-meal meetings.
Complete banquet consumption sheets as designated by the Banquet Captain and Manager.
Attend department meetings and other company required trainings.
Complete other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
Previous banquet service required, four-star/four-diamond hotel or resort banquet experience is strongly preferred.
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays and evenings.
Must have excellent working knowledge of liquors, beers and wines.
Must agree and adhere to compensation acknowledgment and tip reporting guidelines.
Must be 21 years of age or older
Must have excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
Ability to multitask and portray a friendly demeanor in a fast-paced environment.
Must consistently demonstrate a teamwork-oriented and positive attitude.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time (at least 8 hours/shift).
Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry moderate weight.
Must be able to walk/stand for extended periods of time, with frequent bending and twisting.
Must be able to attain a valid Food Handler certification and ABLE License upon hire.
