Join our global team for a career filled with opportunities to solve challenges both small and large, local and global, simple and complex.

Wilhelmsen Ship Management (WSM) is looking for a Strategy Manager

Location: Lysaker Type: Hybrid

We are seeking a strategic and commercially minded professional to help drive our strategic agenda and unlock new growth opportunities across our business.

This is a high-impact role at the intersection of strategy, business development, and M&A within a global maritime company. You will play a key role in shaping priorities, developing business cases, and supporting partnerships, joint ventures, and M&A activities across WSM’s German portfolio.

Working closely with senior leaders across Wilhelmsen Ahrenkiel, Barber, BestShip, Waterway IT, WSM, the wider Wilhelmsen Maritime Services segment, and MPC Capital, you will help translate strategy into action and drive meaningful growth initiatives.

The role reports formally to the CFO of WSM, with a functional reporting line to the Managing Director of Wilhelmsen Ahrenkiel, offering broad exposure to senior stakeholders across the organisation.

What you will do:

  • Drive strategy work across Wilhelmsen Ahrenkiel, Barber, Bestship, and Waterway IT, while supporting strategic projects across WSM and Wilhelmsen Maritime Services.

  • Help define and deliver strategic priorities that support profitable growth.

  • Support and manage M&A, partnerships, joint ventures, and post-merger integration.

  • Identify market opportunities and assess portfolio options to support future growth.

  • Turn strategy into action through business plans, projects, and value-creation initiatives.

  • Lead strategic, financial, and commercial analyses and build strong business cases.

  • Help strengthen project management capabilities and improve ways of working.

  • Build and manage a central repository for strategy and M&A data.

Who you are:

  • You have relevant higher education and experience in strategy, M&A, corporate finance, business development, consulting, or a related field.

  • You combine strong commercial judgement with drive, curiosity, and a hands-on mindset.

  • You work effectively across functions and know how to influence and engage stakeholders.

  • You bring a global mindset and a solid understanding of the maritime industry.

  • You communicate clearly and confidently in English, both verbally and in writing.

  • You are highly proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

  • Experience with BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau, as well as international experience, is an advantage.

Why join us:

At Wilhelmsen, you will join a company with global reach, a strong maritime heritage, and clear growth ambitions. You will work on high-impact strategic priorities, collaborate with senior stakeholders, and play a visible role in shaping the future of ship management. We also offer a range of attractive benefits, including:

  • Flexible working arrangements

  • A generous pension plan with attractive employer contributions

  • Access to company cabins in Norway, Spain, and Sweden

  • Social events throughout the year, including wine tastings, cooking classes, yoga, dance, and rock-climbing lessons

  • Sports club membership, including sporting and cultural activities such as group training in our gymnasium, sailing, theatre, and concert tickets

  • Discounted sports club membership

If you are excited by the opportunity to help shape growth in a global maritime business, we would love to hear from you. Please apply through our career portal by creating a ‘Candidate Home’ account and uploading your resume and motivational letter.
