Summary of Job Duties:
The Graduate Assistant for Student Involvement and Leadership (SIL) serves as a valuable resource for SIL student leaders by coordinating leadership development programs and advising members of the SOOIE Executive Board. The Graduate Assistant will develop knowledge and skills in these major areas of responsibility: program planning, student advising, small group facilitation, marketing, assessment, budget, and interpersonal communication. The Graduate Assistant role is one that contributes significantly to the overall operation of Student Involvement and Leadership. The Graduate Assistant will be supervised by the Assistant Director for Registered Student Organizations. This position is primarily a student-facing position, so remote work is limited, and some nights and weekends can be expected. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
This position will develop UA Career-Ready skills such as Communication, Professionalism, and Leadership.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Completion of a bachelor's degree with a 3.0 GPA or higher from an accredited university
Unconditional enrollment in a Graduate degree-seeking program at the University of Arkansas
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working independently and in groups
Undergraduate involvement in student involvement, event coordination, and student organization leadership is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA’s)
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Compensation & Benefits:
Compensation for 12-month GA position is $23,631 (master student) or $28,217 (doctoral student) plus tuition (fees will be the responsibility of the student).
Hours and Schedule:
This position requires 20 hours per week. One hour per week will be for SOOIE board meetings, and the rest should be served during normal business hours.
Employment Timeline:
Position is a 12-month appointment with the start date being the week before classes start. Student must take classes during fall, spring, and at least one class during one of the summer sessions.
