Description
Key Responsibilities
- Handle claims from first notification of loss through to final settlement, including coverage analysis, investigation, evaluation, reserving, and resolution, ensuring alignment with established guidelines, service standards, and regulations.
- Proactively handle claims to achieve the best indemnity outcomes, balancing efficiency and effectiveness in claim resolution.
- Align to Convex's claims key performance indicators, governance frameworks, adhering to established procedures and processes.
- Monitor claims movements, provide advisory insights to the business regarding potential exposures.
- Take responsibility for data gathering and sharing industry or event knowledge with relevant colleagues.
- Support the attraction and retention of business by delivering exceptional claims service and contributing to Convex's reputation for service excellence.
- Ensure great loss outcomes and reserve accuracy through direct intervention on large loss events where required, and identification of loss trends which may impact ranking, reserves or risk selection.
- Build and sustain relationships with underwriters, brokers and clients and work collaboratively together in addition to liaison with actuaries and data teams internally on loss related matters.
- Contribute to the preparation of local claims reports and updates, ensuring stakeholders are well-informed on key developments.
- Assimilate our purpose which enables us to deliver the best claims service experience to clients while meeting all regulatory requirements.
- Clearly advocate for client service as a brand differentiator and demonstrate behaviours that align to the Convex core values.
- Assist with the implementation of systems and the development of innovative technology to enhance claims handling capabilities.
- All team members are expected to work cross class outside of their specialist area where occasionally required. An ambition and willingness to do so is key.
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
- Demonstrated experience handling property claims in a dynamic, fast-paced environment combined with a keen focus on delivering service excellence is highly preferred.
- A CPCU designation would be advantageous though not required.
- A polished and articulate communicator capable of engaging effectively across Stakeholders at all levels.
- Exceptional negotiation and diplomacy skills, with the ability to mediate and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to tackle complex challenges and develop practical solutions.
- Detail-oriented with an exceptional ability to interpret data and assess technical details critically.
- Proven ability to manage competing demands efficiently, working quickly and effectively in challenging technical situations.
- Flexible and adaptable to change, thriving in an entrepreneurial setting where collaboration is key.
- Experience in an innovative yet practical work environment, balancing creativity with the urgency required for timely execution.
- Demonstrates learning agility and a curious mindset with an appetite to deliver continuous improvement.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point).
