POSITION:         IDEA ASSISTANT TEACHER-PARAPROFESSIONAL


COMMENCING DATE:      July 23, 2026

QUALIFICATIONS: 

1.  High School Diploma/GED.
2. Completed at least 2 years of study (48 semester hours) at an institution of higher education;  or
3. Obtained an associate's (or higher) degree; or Passed the ACT WorkKeys requirements - Reading for Information, score of 4, Applied Mathematics, score of 4, and Writing or Business Writing, score of 3; or WorkKeys Silver Level Certification: Workplace Documents, score of 4, Applied Mathematics, score of 4, and Writing or Business Writing, score of 3.
4. Interpersonal skills in working with students, professional colleagues, administration, parents, and community
5. Strong written and oral communication skills: grammar, spelling, punctuation
6. Good physical condition with ability to lift 50 pounds

JOB DESCRIPTION: Assist the teacher in maintaining appropriate classroom activities and enhance student learning.

SALARY: Commensurate with the Ocean Springs salary schedule for classified positions for the 2026-2027 school year.
