Job Description

Position Highlights

This role is part of IT Global IT Operations at LDC Company to ensure that all IT Services related to support activities for our critical Data Center environment are delivered effectively and efficiently ensuring business continuity. 

Ensure joint compliance with our main ITSM processes (Incident, change, problem, request, and event management) and step in the DevOps process methodology based on the LDC implementation Microsoft DevOps methodology.

 

Main responsibilities:

• Utilizing the existing LDC processes (Incident, Change, Problem, Request, etc.) deliver high quality and timely support to the LDC Hybrid Cloud infrastructure: 
• Restore services to operational status when degradation/outage is reported or proactively discovered (Incident & Event Management) 
• Provide or work in cooperation with peers, higher level of support and/or vendors to provide Root Cause and permanent fixes for major outages, reoccurring issues, problematic areas, and services (Problem Management) 
• Execute planned or unplanned modifications and/or replacement of components in the LDC Cloud Infrastructure (Change Management) 
• Ad-hoc support request incoming from Business, Management, or upper level (L3) of support 
• Design, Build, Configure, Install, Monitor and Support the Physical and Virtual Linux Server Environment. 
• Design, Build, Configure, Install, monitor and support VMware Environment. o Liaison with all service vendors like Redhat, VMware, Ansible etc., for management and support of infrastructures. 
• Ensure that the technical documentation from the VMware / Linux / Automation environments is available. 
• Monitor, control and support service delivery; ensuring systems, methodologies and procedures are in place and followed. 
• Ensure excellent communication and collaboration between Applications and Infrastructures teams. Take active participation in joint troubleshooting and support activities with the infrastructure (On-Prem) teams for issues spanning between On-Prem and Cloud infrastructure. 
• Ensure that LDC ITSM and DevOps (Agile) process are correctly applied. 
• Continuous improvement 
• Develop Left Shifting approach with monitoring teams (L1 & L2) 
• Facilitate and implement automation as possible. 
• Global workload automation in hybrid infrastructure 
• Central interface to design and schedule simple and complex Workflows. 
• Proactively drive legacy management, security vulnerability recovery and DRP testing. 
• On-Premises 
• Follow and monitor if the collocation contracts and needs are being applied. 

 

Main requirements:

Mandatory:

• Strong hardware knowledge of VMware / Linux / Automation stacks 
• Linux distribution (Redhat, Suse, Debian, Ubuntu), Standalone or Clustered 
• VMware environment (vSphere, vCenter) 
• Linux/Unix Server and other Server, VMWare certifications preferred. 
• Perform quick health assessment of the product to make sure its critical functionalities are operational. 
• Understand how to monitor the state of a configuration item. 
• Handle remote troubleshooting equipment and virtual environment.

• Automation templates (Packer and Chocolatey)
