Job Description
The CMS Specialist & Environment Engineer is responsible for leading and directing environmental management activities, including the handling of hazardous and non-hazardous waste in compliance with company and government regulations. The role serves as the focal point for contractor management, including covered and unsupervised contractors, while maintaining effective communication with government bodies regarding environmental regulations, permits, and compliance requirements. The position oversees regular environmental monitoring activities, promotes and supports Environmental Management Systems such as ISO 14001 and PROPER, and ensures all operations meet Goodyear and governmental environmental standards. In addition, the role leads industrial hygiene initiatives and manages the chemical management system to ensure a safe, compliant, and sustainable working environment.
What You'll Do
You will monitor environmental compliance with local and international regulations while ensuring alignment with company and governmental environmental standards.
You will manage waste, emissions, water treatment, and pollution control programs, including maintaining operational WWTP and STP systems.
You will conduct environmental inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify compliance gaps and improvement opportunities.
You will prepare environmental reports, regulatory submissions, and support permit applications and renewals.
You will investigate environmental incidents and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
You will develop and implement sustainability and environmental improvement programs.
You will coordinate environmental monitoring activities with internal and external stakeholders.
You will deliver environmental awareness and compliance training to employees.
You will support the implementation and maintenance of ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, maintenance, and HR, to address EHS concerns and improve workplace compliance.
You will manage contractor selection, onboarding, and evaluation processes.
You will ensure contractors comply with company HSE policies, procedures, and legal regulations.
You will monitor contractor performance, safety records, and quality of work.
You will support incident investigations involving contractors and recommend corrective actions.
You will prepare reports related to contractor compliance, performance, and EHS activities.
You will coordinate the PEC Management System in alignment with the EHS Manager.
You will prepare and maintain weekly and monthly reports related to EHS activities.
What We're Looking For
You hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline from a reputable university.
You have a minimum of 3–5 years of experience in environmental management or environmental engineering.
You possess a valid PPPA certification.
You have strong knowledge of environmental regulations, compliance requirements, and reporting standards.
You are familiar with ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems and PROPER requirements.
You have a solid understanding of contractor compliance and HSE regulations.
You demonstrate strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
You are proficient in Microsoft Office applications and reporting systems.
