Job Description
POSITION INFO:
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for general and preventive maintenance work of machines, equipment building and plant facilities. Shift is A3, 7p to 7a.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for general maintenance work of mechanical equipment, hydraulic pumps, cylinders, valves, quench conveyors, quench tanks, water leaks, etc.
• Preventive maintenance of facility equipment.
• Knowledge in the proper operation of welding equipment and cutting torch.
• Assists plant service specialist in mechanical and electrical work as required.
• Working knowledge of all plant utilities, locations, and color coding for servicing.
• Knowledge of OSHA standards which are required for proper installations and work for compliance of regulations.
• Utilize fall-arrest system to perform work at heights greater than 4 feet.
• Responsible for housekeeping of work area.
• Responsible for safety of oneself and others.
• Performs any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of two years in maintenance field desired. Must maintain a good attendance record, have necessary tools, and strong ability/knowledge in at least one phase of maintenance work.
EDUCATION:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Work-Ready Certificate a plus

TRAINING AND SKILLS:
• Mechanical and pneumatic knowledge
• Welding and cutting torch skills
• Some electrical knowledge desired.
