Spectrolab, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, is currently seeking an Associate Systems Administrator to join the team in Sylmar, CA.

As a Systems Administrator at Spectrolab, you will play a vital role in system integration, hardware and software installation, and configuration of servers and workstations to support our technology architecture. You will provide hands-on support for designing, validating, and implementing system changes, while monitoring system performance and managing user access to ensure robust security compliance. Your problem-solving skills will be key to resolving technical issues efficiently.

Currently, Spectrolab is undertaking a major file migration from network drives to SharePoint, and you will be instrumental in driving this project forward, including supporting the implementation of a comprehensive data lifecycle policy.

The ideal candidate brings strong knowledge of SharePoint and the Microsoft Power Platform, with a willingness to expand expertise into additional technologies such as Raspberry Pi, SAP, Microsoft SQL Server, and Microsoft Azure. A passion for learning programming and scripting languages like Python, SQL, PowerShell, and SAP ABAP is highly valued to enhance data analysis and troubleshooting capabilities across systems.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Works directly with project managers to ensure Information Technology infrastructure solutions meet the project requirements and schedules

  • Oversees system design, integration, hardware and software installation, configuration and disposition of servers and workstations to support project performance

  • Performs a multi-disciplined range of technical systems and application activities

  • Collaborates with end users to gather, analyze, and refine system requirements, ensuring alignment with manufacturing and quality standards

  • Investigates, documents, and resolves system issues, providing technical support and contributing to the development of training materials for end users

  • Grants user access to SharePoint and network shares

  • Assists in SharePoint file migration project

  • Assists with data lifecycle policy implementation

  • Assists with employee onboarding and computer software installation

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 1+ years of experience in performing system administration tasks on Windows and Linux hosts including installing security patches and making configuration changes to support security requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in integrating hardware and software components into a functional system

  • 1+ years of experience working within multi-disciplined teams to resolve business impacting computing issues

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 1+ years of experience with SQL Database Administrator (DBA)

  • 1+ years of experience with backend development (MS SQL Server)

  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications

  • Experience collaborating with managers and subject matter experts across functions

  • Experience with strong verbal and written communication skills

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $83,300 – $112,700
