Web Experience & Optimization Manager (AI-First / CMS / SEO / GTM)
Role Overview
We are looking for a web operator who thinks in systems and uses AI as their primary productivity layer. This role owns global website operations including CMS execution, technical SEO, tag management, and UX optimization but the differentiator we are hiring for is someone who has fundamentally changed how they work because of AI tools and can bring that instinct to how we scale our web function.
This is a hands-on execution role requiring strong collaboration across Web, Creative, and Marketing Operations teams. The ideal candidate is not waiting for AI to be handed to them as a feature. They are already using it to move faster, think sharper, and do more with less.
Key Responsibilities
1. Web Production & AI-Accelerated Execution (Core Responsibility)
- Manage and execute web requests from intake through publishing with a bias toward automation and intelligent workflows
- Build and update pages in CMS (Optimizely or similar platform)
- Ensure all updates align with design standards, brand guidelines, and component usage
- Perform QA, testing, and publishing of web content
- Apply basic HTML/CSS updates when needed
- Ensure pages are responsive and meet accessibility standards (WCAG)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Web, Creative, Marketing Operations)
- Use AI tools (Copilot, Claude, or others) to accelerate repetitive tasks like content structuring, accessibility checks, copy refinement, component documentation
- Identify which parts of the request queue can be systematized or automated and actually do it
2. Technical SEO & Web Performance Optimization
- Optimize pages for technical SEO best practices, including:
- Metadata implementation
- Content structure and hierarchy
- Internal linking
- Actively use AI to accelerate audits, generate structured recommendations, and analyze patterns across pages at a scale that manual review cannot match
- Improve page engagement and conversion performance through layout and content changes
- Use tools such as Google Search Console and SEO platforms (e.g., Conductor, ContentKing)
- Identify and resolve UX or content issues impacting performance
- Partner with Marketing Operations to support lead generation and form performance
3. Tag Management & Site Performance (GTM)
- Manage Google Tag Manager (GTM) for:
- Tag implementation and updates
- Script management and validation
- Support tracking setup for:
- User behavior and engagement
- Conversion tracking
- Use AI-assisted code review or script analysis to catch errors faster and reduce QA cycles
- Audit and optimize third-party scripts to reduce performance impact
- Monitor and improve site performance using tools such as PageSpeed Insights
4. UX & Component Optimization (CMS Enhancements)
- Identify and improve UX/UI issues across website pages
- Recommend and implement enhancements to CMS components (blocks/modules)
- Work with developers to improve:
- Layout flexibility
- Component behavior and usability
- Support improvements such as:
- Responsive design behavior and breakpoints
- Image handling and layout consistency
- Content structure and accessibility improvements
- Document reasoning and solutions in ways that are easy to hand off or feed into AI-assisted workflows
- Reduce reliance on custom code by improving reusable components
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in web production, digital experience, or related role
- Strong experience with CMS platforms (Optimizely preferred)
- Proficiency in HTML and CSS (JavaScript knowledge is a plus)
- Understanding of responsive design and accessibility standards (WCAG)
- Hands-on experience with Google Tag Manager
- Familiarity with technical SEO principles and tools
- Demonstrated ability to use AI tools to increase personal throughput not just as a curiosity, but as a core working practice
- Experience working in cross-functional teams (Marketing, Creative, Development)
- Strong problem-solving and prioritization skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Active use of AI tools in daily web workflows with specific examples you can speak to
- Experience with enterprise CMS or component-based design systems
- Familiarity with SEO tools such as Conductor, ContentKing, or similar
- Experience with Google Analytics (GA4) or similar platforms
- Exposure to performance optimization tools (PageSpeed Insights, Lighthouse)
- Experience improving CMS components or UI/UX patterns with a bias toward reuse over custom builds

This is not a role where AI literacy means you tried ChatGPT once. We want someone who has rebuilt how they work because of these tools. That might look like:
- Using AI to draft and QA metadata at scale
- Using code assistants to accelerate GTM troubleshooting
- Building lightweight prompt-driven workflows that reduce manual intake overhead
