E/ F System Owner-Maintenance Specialist Sr.
Plant Bowen
Summary of Position Duties
This position will be accountable for all maintenance & support activities associated with Maintenance Specialist Sr./System Owner duties for turbines and generators at Plant Bowen. These include technical support; outage planning/scheduling and coordination; routine maintenance planning; project management and coordination; outage and baseline budget tracking; as well as capital project management, planning, execution, and budget tracking.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Development and execution of maintenance strategies for owned system(s).
- Monitor maintenance strategy via preventative maintenance tracking as well as documentation of equipment failures and maintenance strategy violations.
- Administer the work order management system by effectively communicating system needs though the prioritization of work orders, providing detail work scopes, coordination, and execution of the weekly work plan.
- Support and review Root Cause Analyses on the system issues.
- Responsible for tracking and providing input to budget development and monthly projections regarding contractor labor, services, material, parts, and equipment needs while efficiently managing costs associated with these resources.
- Daily operation of relevant computer applications to monitor work order progress, parts status, and labor utilization. Examples of these tools include but are not limited to the following: Maximo, Tableau, Oracle Cloud, OIS, Word, Safe TK, & Excel.
- Responsible for developing, planning, scheduling, and executing outage work scope plans for forced, planned, and maintenance outages.
- Execute major maintenance or replacement activities by providing specific technical direction and coordination of assigned maintenance crews and/or contractor personnel while monitoring quality, cost, and adherence to contract specifications as well as equipment specs and maintenance procedures.
- Analyze critical situations on owned Plant equipment to determine competent solutions to identified problems and a resolution to them.
- Consistent display of strong technical acumen and self-directed decision-making capability regarding plant equipment.
- Support the Best Practices Program by developing and implementing best practices in a timely manner.
- Provide subject matter expertise to maintenance personnel including OEM specs, manuals, and procedures to accomplish work on owned system equipment.
- Establish a working relationship with key vendors and SCS personnel; gather and analyze acceptance data on new/rebuilt equipment and stay informed of current technology.
- Display effective communication skills and people skills to foster effective working relationships with personnel from all departments.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Educational Requirements:
- A technical degree or equivalent experience is desired but not required.
Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Requirements:
- Must possess a minimum of 2 years of experience at a Supercritical Generating Plant.
- Must possess a thorough understanding of electrical generating plant equipment, systems, and overall operation as it pertains to turbine and generator maintenance.
- Must possess the ability to analyze critical situations; determine competent solutions and be capable of implementing strategic plans in a safe and effective manner.
- Must possess demonstrated ability to work with people across multiple departments to achieve organizational objectives.
- Must possess effective written and oral communications skills.
- Must possess the ability to make critical decisions regarding plant equipment and resources while balancing financial constraints and equipment availability needs.
- Working knowledge of Maximo & Oracle are strongly preferred.
- Resource planning experience preferred but not required.
- Operation and/or Maintenance of supercritical coal fired equipment is preferred.
- Previous system ownership, planning, and budgeting experience are a preferred but not required.
- Contractor, GPC resource coordination, or leadership experience is a plus.
- Working knowledge of operating systems including Tableau, OIS, CIMS, Excel, Safe TK & Word are preferred.
- Plant Bowen experience in the Operating Department of 2 plus years is preferred.
- Experience working on Plant Bowen specific equipment or equivalent industrial equipment with skills, knowledge, or a strong understanding of the processes & procedures of the following disciplines is strongly preferred:
- Welding (SMAW/GTAW)
- Precision measurement
- Crane operation (mobile and overhead)
- Machine work & machining concepts
- Rigging for critical lifts
- Turbine and generator repair
- Electrical troubleshooting-Journeyman Level
