Role Overview
The Physical Education Teacher plans and leads age-appropriate lessons designed to improve students' physical skills, health knowledge, and sportsmanship, while inspiring a lifelong active lifestyle.
Key Responsibilities
- Instruction & Promotion: Develop and deliver engaging PE lesson plans (team sports, fitness, athletics) that encourage participation in new sports and activities.
- Evaluation: Assess student performance and physical development throughout the school year and provide progress reports.
- Collaboration: Partner with school staff to integrate health education and ensure curriculum aligns with state and district standards.
- Classroom Management: Establish a positive, respectful, and structured environment with clear daily routines and consistent behavioral expectations.
- Safety & Equipment: Maintain a safe, clean environment and ensure all athletic equipment is used and stored correctly.
Role Overview
The STEM Teacher delivers a hands-on, inquiry-based curriculum for grades 4�6 that fosters critical thinking, collaboration, and technology integration, preparing students for future STEM pathways.
Key Responsibilities
- Instruction & Curriculum: Teach rotating 4th�6th grade classes (approx. 21 classes), implementing engaging, hands-on experiments and aligned STEM curriculum.
- Collaboration: Partner with district-level specialists to integrate STEM concepts seamlessly into general education classes.
- Tech Integration: Effectively utilize educational technology and digital tools to enhance student learning.
- Classroom Management: Establish a safe, respectful, and highly engaging environment with clear procedures and positive behavioral expectations.
This position requires:
- One (1) year of experience working in a classroom setting PLUS one of the following: an Associate's degree, 48 semester hours from an accredited college or have passed the ParaPro assessment.
- Experience as a licensed educator preferred. Experience in PE, STEM or Fine Arts preferred.
- Completion of an online classroom management training provided is required within the first 30 calendar days of employment.
Rotation Assistant I Lane 3
Rotation Assistant II Lane 4
- To be eligible to advance to the Rotation Assistant II, the incumbent must complete one year as a Rotation Assistant I and 20 hours of advanced training in P.E., STEM or Fine Arts provided by the Teaching & Learning department. This training is optional.
Rotation Assistant III Lane 5
- To be eligible for the Rotation Assistant III, the incumbent must be a current or former licensed teacher.
