Cash Operations Analyst
Job Description
A Cash Operations Analyst at IFS is responsible for the timely and accurate execution of all cash-related activities, ensuring the integrity of financial records and adherence to internal controls and corporate policies.
The role requires a strong understanding of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes, combined with a sound knowledge of Cash and Treasury operations. The Analyst is responsible for recording and reconciling cash transactions, supporting payment processing, analyzing outstanding balances, and delivering accurate reporting on cash-related activities.
A high level of attention to detail, strong analytical capability, and effective written and verbal communication skills are essential. Awareness of local tax requirements is advantageous and will be further developed within the role.
In addition, the Cash Operations Analyst is expected to continuously enhance their process knowledge, contribute to process improvements, and share expertise to support team development and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to treasury policies, internal controls, and governance frameworks
- Coordinate with Finance and Operations teams to ensure timely and accurate execution of payment runs in line with contractual terms
- Record and validate all cash inflows and outflows in accordance with IFS accounting policies and procedures
- Perform bank reconciliations in line with audit and compliance requirements
- Investigate and resolve cash-related queries and discrepancies, both internal and external, within defined timelines
- Analyze aged debtors and creditors, providing insights and recommendations to improve working capital management
- Review and reconcile general ledger cash entries against bank transactions to ensure completeness and accuracy
- Support month-end close activities and contribute to internal and external audit requirements
- Monitor and minimize late payment interest charges and penalties through proactive analysis and follow-up
- Prepare and report key process indicators, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and control
- Engage in process improvement initiatives and support cost optimisation efforts
- Assist with system testing, upgrades, and enhancements (e.g., ERP or banking platforms)
- Ensure all transactions are supported by appropriate documentation and comply with audit and regulatory standards
- Maintain and update process documentation in line with standard operating procedures
University degree or equivalent professional qualification in Accounting, Finance field
Experience
Minimum of 3 years experience working in global environments.
Specific Knowledge
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (MS Excel is mandatory)
- Proficient in using ERP applications
- Understanding of internal controls and financial governance frameworks
- Financial control process including account reconciliations and substantiations
- Hands-on experience with Power BI is considered an advantage
