Job Description

The Human Resources Consultant serves as a subject matter expert in employee relations, equal employment opportunity (EEO), and compliance functions for the University of North Carolina System Office and its affiliates. This role provides consultation, case management, and compliance oversight to ensure alignment with federal and state laws, UNC policies, and best practices. Key responsibilities include: Providing consultation to managers, employees, and campuses on employee relations matters. Managing and tracking employee relations cases and ensuring appropriate documentation. Supporting grievance processes, including review and coordination of Final University Decisions (FUDs). Leading compliance-related reporting and EEO initiatives. Developing and maintaining employee relations resources and tools. Ensuring adherence to employment laws, policies, and regulatory requirements. Serving as a liaison with OSHR, OFCCP, and other governing entities. While this position is primarily focused on employee relations, EEO, and compliance functions, it may also provide oversight, coordination, or limited supervisory support to other HR team members or functional areas as needed to support operational priorities.
