Job Summary
As a Market Segmentation Analyst Co-op, you will support the team in uncovering actionable insights into market dynamics and geographic opportunities. This role is ideal for a student with a passion for spatial data, data analysis, and strategic thinking. You will work closely with the Market Segmentation Manager to support decisions on which customers to prioritize, where growth opportunities exist and how to tailor marketing strategies to different regions and audiences.
What you’ll be doing
Assist in ad hoc data analysis by extracting and synthesizing data using Google BigQuery to answer business questions.
Analyze market data using tools like Excel, Google Looker, and GIS software to identify trends and geographic patterns, with a focus on the Ontario and Quebec markets.
Help prepare presentations and reports that translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for strategic planning.
Collaborate with the Market Segmentation Manager to align data analysis with business objectives and strategic initiatives.
Monitor market trends and demographic shifts to provide contextual insights for the Sonnet brand.
Support data quality and integrity for all analyses and reports.
What you bring
Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor’s program in Marketing, GIS/Geography, Data Science, Business Analytics or a related field.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
General aptitude for data, math and geography
Some familiarity writing SQL queries to extract and manipulate data (experience with Google BigQuery is a strong asset) and data analysis tools (e.g. Excel)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Detail-oriented with a passion for understanding behavior.
Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Google Looker, Tableau, Power BI).
Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software such as QGIS or ArcGIS for spatial data analysis.
Familiarity with third-party demographic and market data sets (such as Environics Analytics).
Prior internship or co-op experience in market research or analytics is a plus.

The hourly compensation for the role starts at $22.50 per hour and will increase based on factors including but not limited to, skills, education, experience, and the recommended rates as set by the respective educational institution.
