Position Summary:
The Material Handler receives, stocks, picks, and distributes parts and materials used in manufacturing operations. Verifies inventory accuracy through the execution of counting activities including daily cycle counting. Maintains a clean, safe workplace. The Material Handler is a customer driven individual who is self-motivated and detail oriented.
Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks
- Receives, puts-away, stores and issues parts and other materials.
- Adequately labels and maintains an organized inventory with accurate records.
- Puts-away parts, components and materials in the correct inventory locations safeguarding such from damage.
- Actively participates in stock counting activities such as cycle counting, location audit counts and fiscal year-end inventory counts.
- Actively participates in ensuring the workplace is safe and clean.
- Operates equipment including but not limited to forklift, pallet picker, utility truck, banding tools, corrugated compactor, pick-up truck and other various warehouse tools and equipment as required to complete assigned tasks.
- Picks and stores parts/material at ground level and at heights up to 16 feet using mobile stairs, forklift and/or pallet picker as required.
- Delivers parts to internal customer departments in the form of parts kits, kanban stocking or bulk delivery, as instructed.
- Load and unload parts/materials from freight trucks using forklift and/or pallet jack.
- Load and unload small package shipments from courier trucks by hand.
- Use computer and other office technology tools to prepare and/or transact pick lists, packing lists, inventory transactions, shipping documents and other daily requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience: High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
