Chemours is seeking a visionary and experienced Global EHS Leader to drive the company’s environmental, process safety, health and safety strategy across all operations worldwide.

This role will be responsible for setting and executing the EHS Management System, ensuring compliance, fostering a culture of safety, and supporting Chemours’ commitment to sustainability and responsible chemical manufacturing. 

This role will also partner closely with executive leadership, operations, and corporate functions to enable compliant growth and operational excellence. The Global EHS Leader will serve as the chief advisor to the CEO and Board on all matters related to EHS. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Develop, implement, and oversee global EHS strategy, policies, and programs aligned with Chemours’ business objectives and sustainability goals. 

  • Lead the EHS Centers of Excellence (COE) across all business units, facilities, and geographies, ensuring standardized practices and continuous improvement. 

  • Advise the CEO and Board of Directors on EHS risk, regulatory compliance, and emerging issues (including climate & environmental stressors, process safety and workplace safety and occupational health risks ). 

  • Foster a strong safety culture, driving accountability and engagement at all levels, from frontline workers to senior management. 

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant local, national, and international EHS regulations and industry standards. 

  • Collaborate with operations and manage EHS-related crises, incidents, investigations, and reporting; oversee corrective action plans. 

  • Develop relationships with external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, industry groups, and community partners. 

  • Lead EHS governance processes and management performance reviews; audit programs, track KPIs and develop actionable insights. 

  • Champion Chemours’ safety culture initiatives and EHS management system improvement processes. 

  • Mentor and develop EHS professionals and operations leaders across the organization; build a high-performing, diverse team. 

  • Benchmark and network externally to integrate ideas for continuous improvement. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field; Master’s degree preferred. 

  • 12+ years’ progressive experience in EHS leadership and hazardous operations management in the chemical manufacturing, or related, high hazard industry. 

  • 3+ years in senior leadership roles within chemicals, advanced materials, oil & gas, or pharmaceutical manufacturing. 

  • Proven track record of managing global EHS programs at scale; experience working across cultures and geographies. 

  • Deep knowledge of EHS regulations (OSHA, EPA, CCPS RBPS, REACH, GHS, etc.) and industry best practices. 

  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and influencing skills; ability to engage at all levels of the organization. 

  • Demonstrated crisis management and incident investigation expertise. 

  • Lean, Six Sigma, or Operational Excellence experience and working knowledge highly desirable.

Pay Range (in local currency):

$239,229.00 - $373,795.00

Chemours Level:

32

Annual Bonus Target:

36%

Annual Stock Amount

115,000.00 USD

The pay range and incentives listed above is a general guideline based on the primary location of this job only and not a guarantee of total compensation. Factors considered in extending a compensation offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, and alignment with market data. The incentive pay is dependent on business results and individual performance and subject to the terms and conditions of the specific plans.
