Job Description:

Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. Should you accept this position, it is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes and your employment would be governed by DePuy Synthes employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to you by DePuy Synthes at an appropriate time and subject to any necessary consultation processes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Strategy & Governance 

- Define the global strategy, operating model, and governance for HCP engagements across four regions; own roadmap, budget, and KPIs. 

- Partner with HCC and Legal to define global standards and playbooks for needs assessment, contracting, fee-for-service engagements, invoicing/payment, educational grants, charitable contributions, and transfer-of-value reporting. 

HCP Engagement Lifecycle Ownership 

- Own the North America end-to-end HCP engagement workflow: needs assessment, service request intake, contracting/approvals, onboarding/registration, delivery coordination, invoicing, payment, and post-engagement reporting. 

- Ensure clear legal/compliance handoffs and controls for contracting and transfers of value. 

Educational Grants and Charitable Contributions 

- Own the North America end-to-end Educational Grants and Charitable Contributions workflow (e.g., tuition/travel grants, monetary/product/in-kind educational grants, fellowship support, local charity, medical missions, and indigent patient product contributions). 

- Ensure clear legal/compliance handoffs and controls for grants and donations. 

Systems & Data Strategy 

- Lead the global systems portfolio strategy (e.g., HCP engagement systems/portals, Cvent or equivalent, CLM such as Sirion or equivalent, customer registration, and education/data lake). 

- Prioritize roadmaps, integrations, data model, and vendor relationships to enable one global operating model with local flexibility. 

- Define and deliver KPIs, dashboards, and analytics for effectiveness, compliance, and transfer-of-value reporting. 

Global Standardization & Regional Enablement 

- Lead standardization global strategy and standards into regional execution. 

- Harmonize processes, templates, SLAs, and training while managing required localization and differences. 

Day1 Separation & Transition regulatory 

- Define Day-1 requirements for the Orthopedics separation from J&J MedTech (conveyance, org strategy, data/systems separation, outsourcing model, contract strategy, vendor continuity, and critical process ownership). 

- Lead go-live execution to stand up Professional Relations & Operations teams and technology in North America, including transition/handover and business continuity. 

Operations Delivery & Vendor Management 

- Lead global service delivery strategy across centralized and regional teams (needs assessments, contracting, service request processing, invoicing/payment, and transfer-of-value reporting). 

- Oversee vendor selection, SOWs, performance, and escalations. 

Compliance & Risk 

- Ensure compliance with global and local requirements (sunshine/transfer-of-value reporting, anti-bribery, data privacy). 

- Partner with Legal, Compliance, Privacy, and Finance to implement controls and support audits. 

People & Stakeholder Leadership 

- Build and lead a global governance structure, enabling regional execution. 

- Represent the function with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders; influence priorities and resourcing. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA/MS) preferred. 

- 10+ years in professional relations, HCP engagement operations, commercial operations, or similar roles in MedTech/life sciences or another regulated industry. 

- Proven leadership of global, multi-region programs and standardization across NA/EMEA/APAC/LATAM. 

- Strong ownership of enterprise platforms (event management, CRM, CLM, registration) and experience with global rollouts. 

- Demonstrated success running complex workflows spanning contracting, invoicing/payment, and regulatory reporting. 

- Track record leading cross-functional teams and driving change at scale. 

- Strong business acumen, stakeholder influence, and executive presence. 

- Working knowledge of HCP compliance requirements and transfer-of-value reporting. 

- Strong communication, prioritization, and program delivery skills. 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

- Experience with platforms such as Cvent, Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce, Sirion, or equivalent. 

- Experience with data lakes, ETL/data pipelines, and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau). 

- Experience leading separations, carve-outs, or integrations (Day-1 readiness). 

- PMP, Product Owner/Scrum, Agile, or similar certifications. 

- International experience; multilingual capability a plus. 

WORKING CONDITIONS 

- Hybrid model with regular onsite presence during key program phases and stakeholder engagement. 

- Travel: up to 25% (domestic and international).

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$164,000.00 - $282,900.00

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).

This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.

Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:
• Vacation –120 hours per calendar year
• Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado –48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington –56 hours per calendar year
• Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays –13 days per calendar year
• Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
• Parental Leave – 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child
• Bereavement Leave – 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year
• Caregiver Leave – 80 hours in a 52-week rolling period10 days
• Volunteer Leave – 32 hours per calendar year
• Military Spouse Time-Off – 80 hours per calendar year
