Job Description
ATCO Frontec is seeking a 3rd Cook to join our Camp Services team at Artemis Blackwater Mine in central British Columbia, approximately 160km southwest of Prince George and 450km northeast of Vancouver. We’re looking for a great teammate who knows their way around the kitchen and is ready and willing to provide support to the entire kitchen staff with food preparation, cooking, and cleaning. The 3rd Cook is responsible for operating various types of kitchen equipment and perform daily, weekly, and monthly inspections on equipment and food.
The rate for this position is $28.21 an hour. Rates may be subject to change.
Responsibilities:
Ensure all meal prep is organized and completed as required. All dishes are prepared and served to the highest standard
Assist in stocking all food serving areas according to the number of persons to be served, with a focus on a quality, appearance, adequate stocking levels, and minimizing leftovers and product waste
Prepares and cooks food according to standardized recipes, ensuring food is cooked at the proper temperature and at the proper length of time.
Prepares, serves, and clears resident steam table/tray line as required
Maintains established food rotations in storage to minimize spoilage and waste
Operates food services equipment in a safe manner and according to established policies and procedures
Follows principles of sanitation and safety in handling food, work area, and equipment
Ensure that all prepared products are correctly recorded on a daily kitchen log for hot and cold holding, temperature logs and daily cleaning schedules
Acts in a courteous, efficient, and friendly manner in all customer and employee interactions
Clean kitchen, utensils, and equipment
Qualifications:
Completion of a college or other post-secondary program in cooking
The successful candidate must hold a valid food safety certificate
2-3 years experience as 3rd Cook in the hotel/restaurant industry
Ability to prioritize and multitask
Professional communication skills, oral, and written
Work well under pressure
