PASSPORT HEALTH - Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)

What Makes This Role Different - You’ll work as a key partnership of a two-person clinical team, partnering directly with a Registered Nurse to deliver travel health services. In this role, the RN leads the consultations and clinical decision-making while you provide hands-on support across administering vaccines, patient prep, administrative workflows, and clinic operations.
Your Role - As the LVN, you’re the operational backbone of the clinic. Your work directly enables the RN to maximize their clinical capacity and patient throughput. LVNs who thrive here are collaborative, adaptable, and comfortable taking ownership of both clinical support and administrative operations.
Clinical Support
- Prepare and administer vaccines under standing orders; monitor patients for adverse reactions
- Review patient medical histories prior to consultations
- Support the RN with travel health consultations - triaging, prepping, and following up as directed
- Perform venipuncture where required by local service scope
- Receive and upload lab results; inform patients and schedule follow-up appointments as needed
- Provide immigration-related medical services alongside travel health
Administrative & Office Support
- Manage front-desk operations: check-ins, documentation, invoicing, and payment collection
- Collect, scan, and upload client records into EMR and shared systems
- Prepare documentation for physician appointments and regulatory submissions
- Manage clinic inventory - vaccines, medications, and lab supplies - including ordering and stock tracking
- Maintain cleanliness and organization across all clinical and reception areas
- Supporting civil surgeon exam workflows, assisting with USCIS documentation, and maintaining strict compliance standards is a required part of the LVN role.
Patient Communication
- Educate patients on travel-related diseases and vaccine-preventable illness under RN guidance
- Serve as a point of contact for patient questions, customer service issues, and follow-ups
- Support immigration service clients as applicable (see below)
- Promote travel health products and medications as clinically appropriate

- Compensation: $32.00/hr
- Employment Type: Fulltime / 32-40 hours per week
- Weekly Schedule: Downtown Chicago, IL - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
What You Need to Succeed
- Active LVN license in good standing
- 3 to 5 years of clinical experience (travel medicine or immunization background a plus, not required)
- Comfortable supporting clinical operations in a fast-paced, often independent environment
- Strong attention to detail - documentation accuracy matters here
- Reliable access to a personal computer (training systems are not compatible with phones or tablets)
- Proficiency with Google Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Meet)
- Current First Aid/CPR certification
- Strong communication and patient education skills
- Ability to lift and transport vaccine inventory as needed
