Job Description

Overview We are looking for a skilled and motivated Database Administrator (DBA Level 2) to support enterprise database environments in a high-availability, 24x7 production setting. The role requires strong hands-on expertise in PostgreSQL, along with experience in Oracle database administration (including RAC environments), and exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). This position plays a key role in ensuring database reliability, performance, security, and scalability across modern cloud and on-prem environments. Responsibilities Administer, monitor, and maintain PostgreSQL and Oracle databases across production and non-production environments Manage high availability and disaster recovery solutions, including replication and standby databases Support Oracle RAC environments, including cluster administration and ASM Implement and manage Active Data Guard and perform switchover/failover operations Perform database patching, upgrades, and lifecycle maintenance with minimal downtime Manage backup and recovery strategies using RMAN (Oracle), datapump and PostgreSQL utilities (pg_dump, WAL, PITR) Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting Support database migrations, including Oracle to PostgreSQL conversions Manage databases on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), including RDS and managed services Automate routine DBA tasks using scripting and tools Collaborate with application, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to deliver scalable solutions Participate in on-call rotation and provide production support Qualifications Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field 5+ years of experience in database administration Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL Experience with Oracle database technologies including RAC, Data Guard, and RMAN Experience working in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) Strong expertise in performance tuning, backup/recovery, and high availability Proficiency in SQL and database troubleshooting Experience with Linux/Unix environments Scripting experience (Shell, Python, or similar) Preferred Qualifications Experience with database migration and modernization initiatives Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines Knowledge of container technologies (Docker/Kubernetes) Exposure to AI/automation tools for database monitoring and optimization Relevant certifications (Oracle, PostgreSQL, Cloud) Click here to view how Epsilon transforms marketing with 1 View, 1 Vision, 1 Voice. Base Salary: $63,600.00 - $118,000.00 annually. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon, but not limited to the individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, location and application employment laws.
