Job Summary

Serves school by training and support to schools implementing Restorative Practices and provides direct assistance to students and families using the restorative practices model to improve the student's learning experience. This is a 10-month position.

What you will do

  • Will participate on School Leadership team and provide on-going support, training, and technical assistance to teachers and staff implementing restorative practices in the classroom and throughout the building
  • Trained in Trauma Informed Care (ACE) to support staff understanding, response to, and support of students experiencing trauma
  • Coordinate the re-entry of students returning from discipline and expulsion to increase access to wraparound supports and connection to school site staff and resources.
  • Provide short term interventions in Restorative Centers for students, staff, and parents experiencing and/or causing harm to resolve the harm and restore relationships
  • Assist with data collection, progress monitoring, and program evaluation to determine the efficacy of restorative practices and to increase safety and reduce racially disproportionate discipline, and referral.
  • Develop Restorative Practices classroom utilized to support students SEL needs, while teaching conflict resolution and pro-social skills.
  • Coordinates with MNPS departments to ensure necessary services are provided for students. Attend trainings and collaborative sessions to gain additional skills and acquire best practices.
  • Serve as a spokesperson for restorative justice practices; clearly articulate and explain the benefits of restorative processes.
  • Will attend monthly RPA Professional Development sessions


Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Education, Social Work or related fields Required


Experience Qualifications

  • At least two years experience working with youth and/or in leading new initiatives in the area of, community development, or related field with proven success Required


Equivalency
Starting At: $24.56

Salaries are determined by factors relevant to the position which may include education, experience, and other qualifications. Final compensation decisions are made at the discretion of MNPS in alignment with organizational policies and procedures. The stated salary range for certificated teaching positions is calculated based on 201 days and should be viewed as a reference. All provided salary ranges serve as a general guideline.
