Position Summary
The Plant Manager is the senior operating leader responsible for the overall performance, stabilization, and operational excellence of the TASKI Toledo manufacturing site. This leader owns safety, quality, labor productivity, delivery performance, inventory execution, and financial performance while driving operational rigor across a complex discrete manufacturing and assembly operation.
This role requires a highly hands-on leader with deep expertise in discrete manufacturing systems, labor efficiency, assembly operations, production flow, material management, and daily management disciplines. The successful candidate must be capable of stabilizing and scaling a growing operation that currently faces multiple operational constraints including supply chain variability, SAP/MRP process gaps, procurement challenges, component shortages, backorders, labor volatility, and evolving production ramp requirements.
This is not a passive maintenance role. This leader must thrive in fast-paced operational environments requiring structure creation, problem-solving, accountability systems, and operational turnaround capability.
Core Responsibilities
Operational Leadership & Site Performance
Lead all aspects of plant operations including safety, quality, production, maintenance, materials, inventory, logistics, and labor performance
Drive daily operational execution through disciplined tiered accountability and visual management systems
Establish and sustain strong daily management routines focused on SQDIP (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Productivity)
Own site KPIs including:
OTIF
Labor productivity
OEE
Schedule attainment
Scrap/rework
Inventory accuracy
Backorder reduction
Absenteeism
Throughput
Lead structured operational recovery and stabilization initiatives
Labor Productivity & Workforce Effectiveness
Drive labor efficiency improvements through standard work, line balancing, staffing optimization, and workflow discipline
Establish labor planning models tied to production demand and takt time
Implement productivity management systems including labor control towers, attendance management, staffing discipline, and cross-training programs
Build workforce flexibility through cross-certification and skill matrix development
Develop frontline supervisors into strong operational leaders with high accountability standards
Create a culture of urgency, ownership, and execution discipline
Discrete Manufacturing & Assembly Excellence
Lead a multi-SKU assembly and discrete-parts manufacturing environment with strong focus on flow, sequencing, and material synchronization
Improve assembly line throughput, reduce bottlenecks, and optimize workstation efficiency
Drive improvements in:
Changeovers
Material presentation
Kitting
Point-of-use inventory
Workflow ergonomics
Assembly quality
Testing processes
Partner with engineering and quality teams to reduce process variation and improve first-pass yield
Improve production scalability while protecting quality and delivery performance
Supply Chain, Materials & SAP/MRP Execution
Partner closely with Procurement, Planning, and Supply Chain teams to improve material availability and reduce operational disruption
Drive root-cause resolution of SAP/MRP and master data issues impacting OTIF and inventory performance
Lead structured material review and shortage management processes
Improve inventory integrity, transaction discipline, and material flow execution
Develop escalation systems for supplier constraints, shortages, and procurement risks
Ensure operational readiness for production ramps and demand fluctuations
Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
Build a culture of operational excellence using Lean Manufacturing principles
Drive measurable improvements in:
OEE
Labor productivity
Downtime reduction
Throughput
Inventory turns
Lead time
Scrap reduction
Implement sustainable systems rather than reactive firefighting
Lead root cause problem solving using structured methodologies
Establish KPI visibility and accountability across all operating functions
Safety & Quality Leadership
Champion a zero-incident safety culture with strong floor presence and operational discipline
Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
Partner with Quality to strengthen process controls, containment response, and corrective action systems
Drive accountability for first-pass quality and defect prevention
Financial & Business Leadership
Manage site operating costs, labor spending, overtime, inventory, and productivity performance
Translate operational performance into financial outcomes
Support budget attainment while balancing operational realities and customer service
Partner cross-functionally with commercial, supply chain, procurement, finance, engineering, and planning teams
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field preferred
7+ years of manufacturing leadership experience in discrete manufacturing, assembly, or engineered products environments
Demonstrated success leading plant operations, operational turnarounds, or performance recovery initiatives
Strong experience with:
Labor productivity management
OEE improvement
Lean Manufacturing
Tiered daily management systems
Assembly operations
Production scheduling
Inventory/material flow
SAP or ERP-based manufacturing systems
Proven ability to lead in environments with supply chain volatility and operational complexity
Strong floor leadership presence and ability to drive accountability at all organizational levels
Experience improving OTIF, throughput, labor efficiency, and operational stability
Preferred Experience
Experience in electromechanical assembly, equipment manufacturing, industrial products, or high-mix discrete manufacturing
Experience with production ramp-ups or startup environments
TPM, Lean, Six Sigma, or Operational Excellence background
Experience stabilizing operations with material shortages or ERP/MRP process gaps
Union manufacturing and CBA negotiating experience preferred

The expected compensation range for this position is between $107,500.00 and $157,663.00 plus discretionary bonuses. The exact compensation may vary based on your skills, experience and other factors permitted by law.
