Job Summary:
onsemi is looking for a reliable Handyman, Facilities Assistant, to undertake upkeep and repair tasks to the interior and/or exterior of company premises. We will rely on this person to keep our facilities in perfect condition by doing various odd jobs! This person must be well-organized with strong general repair skills. This position will report directly to the Manager of Facilities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· Overall Facility Cleanliness and Safety awareness.
· Perform maintenance and light repairs/painting as needed.
· Perform routine landscaping/minor upkeep on the grounds.
· Patch and Paint walls and floors, as needed (on walls, sidewalks, etc.).
· Undertake light installation or carpentry (e.g., assembly of cabinets).
· Repair equipment or appliances, and PM of cafeteria appliances/equipment.
· Assist facilities team and possible tradespeople with electrical, plumbing or HVAC repairs.
· Undertake duties as assigned or emergency tasks (e.g., shoveling snow).
· Troubleshoot, identify, and report the need for major repairs.
· Other duties as needed or assigned.
· Opportunities to grow with the company and assist with equipment PM activities once qualified (training provided internally).
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, or Facility Management. Preferably Licensed Engineer, with minimum of 3years, experience in Building and Ground Maintenance..
- Strong knowledge of building codes, HVAC systems, and the ability to read blueprints or technical schematics.
- Ability to quickly diagnose faults in mechanical or electrical systems and implement cost-effective repairs.
- Strong analytical problem-solving, project management, and the ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
- Effective communication for coordinating with tenants, staff, and third-party contractors.
