ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Threading Supervisor oversees and coordinates all Threading Department operations, including the dies, taps and cutting of threads on Nuts and Bolts. This role ensures accuracy, efficiency, and safety in production processes while providing guidance and support to Threading Department.
This Position is 2nd Shift 2:45PM-11:45PM. 
  • Oversees daily activities of Threading Department team members, conducts training, and addresses performance issues to ensure productivity, accuracy, and compliance with threading requirements. 
  • Provide guidance, direction, and support to Threading Department team members.
  • Verify conformance of the finished part to ensure that it meets specifications.
  • Scheduling and coordinating shift schedule, rotations, and breaks.
  • Use precision measuring tools (e.g., thread gauges, micrometers, calipers, pitch gauges, tape measure) to check thread quality.
  • Perform basic preventive maintenance on machines (e.g., lubrication, cleaning, changing worn tools).
  • Assist in training Threading Department employees on proper machine operation, safety, and quality protocols.
  • Use technical drawings, and work orders to determine thread type, pitch, size, and material requirements.
  • Follow threading standards such as UNC, UNF, or custom specifications.
  • Ensure threads are free of burrs, defects, or dimensional inaccuracies.
  • Install and adjust tools and dies for threading operations.
  • Troubleshoot minor issues like poor thread finish, machine vibration, or tool wear.
  • Load raw materials (nuts, rods, bolts) into machines and unload finished parts.
  • Label, bundle, or sort threaded parts for the next stage in production or shipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures including Health, Safety, and Quality Assurance policies.
  • Enforcement of PPE compliance.
  • Report injuries, accidents, near misses or unsafe conditions to a Supervisor or Manager immediately.
  • Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of 3- 5 years of machining-related experience preferred.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Preferred.
  • Demonstrated supervisory and leadership skills, including the ability to direct, train, and support a team.
  • Proven problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong math and mechanical skills aptitude.
  • Ability and desire to do precision work with a keen attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong customer-focus.
  • Able to read, understand, interpret and follow detailed work instructions and manufacturing specifications.
  • Ability to adjust to changes without compromising Quality or Performance.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise cooperatively with other departments/functions.
  • Must be able to work a shift schedule and mandatory overtime as needed, including weekends and holidays.
  • Open-minded to coaching/feedback, learning, training, and development.
  • Flexible approach to work, with the ability to multi-task.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Must be able to stand for the duration of scheduled shift.
  • Ability to work in a Manufacturing Setting with exposure to temperature variations, dust, noise, sharp metal threads and sharp metal chips, oils, and coolants.
  • Moderate physical effort handling parts. Equivalent to frequently exerting average effort.
  • Able to lift items weighing up 60 lbs. repetitively.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Manufacturing environment with multi step process production runs on different machines.
  • High value highly customized components and high precision manufacturing for critical service applications.
  • Noise Level: Moderate to High.
  • Temperature variable with season.
